This project is not software in the usual sense. It is a set of 3D printable design files for making small physical tokens shaped like coins or beads, each stamped with the shape of a poison oak leaf. The idea is to give Scouts a safe, touchable way to learn what poison oak looks like in the wild, with the token handed out as a reward once they can recognize the plant. The repository provides three finished token designs at different sizes: 20 millimeters, 25 millimeters, and a larger 40 millimeter version with deeper, more detailed engraving. Each token has a raised leaf image on the front and an engraved, mirrored version of the same leaf on the back, along with a hole through it sized for a string or twine, positioned carefully so it lines up with the leaf's stem on both sides. Each size has its own folder containing the reference photo the artwork was traced from, the 3D model file, the grayscale image files used to create the raised and engraved surfaces, the final printable 3D model file, and preview images showing what the finished token looks like from several angles. Anyone with basic 3D printing knowledge can rebuild these files from source using a free program called OpenSCAD, or simply print the included ready made 3D model files directly. The README also gives specific printer settings the author used, including the exact print profile and orientation, along with fine grained measurements for the depth and width of the engraved lines to make sure the design prints clearly at small sizes. The whole project is released into the public domain under a CC0 license, meaning anyone can use, copy, or modify it for any purpose without asking permission.
