Compiling the LaTeX resume to PDF requires pdflatex installed locally.
This is a Claude skill, meaning a reusable set of instructions Claude Code can load and follow, built for rewriting resumes for the US job market. Instead of only polishing individual sentences, it takes either an unstructured brain dump of your career history or an existing resume you already trust, and produces three documents from it: a clean Markdown resume, a formatted LaTeX resume built on the moderncv banking template, and a personalized handbook that explains what was diagnosed and what to do next. The skill starts by scoring the input against a four tier rubric loosely tied to how often each tier tends to land interviews in practice. A resume with weak wording gets rewritten directly, while a resume built on genuinely thin experience gets pointed toward what to go build first, since no amount of rewriting fixes that. It also pulls a handful of currently active job postings for the target role, extracts the keywords that repeat across them, and checks whether the resume covers at least three quarters of those keywords, since both automated screening systems and quick recruiter scans tend to reject resumes that fall short. Any number in the resume that the person could not confidently defend if asked about it in an interview gets flagged rather than quietly left in. The handbook that comes out the other end is meant to be read, not just skimmed: a strong resume gets a short handbook confirming what already works, while a weaker one gets a longer guide focused on building real experience rather than just rewording bullets. It is available in English by default, with a Mandarin version for students who prefer it. This is scoped specifically to US market resumes for roles like software engineering, AI and machine learning, data, and product management, from new graduate through senior level. It is not meant for cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, interview preparation, or resumes outside the US market. Installing it means cloning the repository into Claude Code's skills folder, the LaTeX template requires pdflatex to compile to a PDF. The project is released under the MIT license.
