arXiv Daily Brief is a personal project that turns the daily flood of new arXiv research papers into a short, readable conversation. Each morning an AI model scans the full new batch of papers, filters them down to what the author cares about and already understands, and opens a dated chat containing only the ideas worth thinking about that day. From there the author can ask questions, request a simpler explanation, connect a finding to their own work, or keep exploring an idea until they feel ready to read the original paper. Rather than producing a leaderboard of papers or a stack of dry abstract summaries, the system rewrites each selected paper's findings in language matched to the reader's existing interests, gradually filling in background knowledge as it goes. For every paper it picks, it aims to explain what the researchers actually learned, what the surrounding field should now think differently about, why the paper connects to something the reader already cares about, one useful question the reader could ask without reading the full paper, and what remains unproven. The same chat used to read a brief is also used to give feedback on it. Saying something like too much agent research, or explain that like I am new to the field, updates a running profile of the reader's interests and knowledge, so the next day's brief reflects that feedback. An example included in the repository shows this correcting an early version that had leaned too heavily toward one topic. This repository is not a program to install and run as is. Instead, it is written as a recipe meant to be handed to an AI agent capable of browsing the web, writing files, and scheduling recurring work, which then interviews the reader about their interests, builds the needed profile and history files, sets up the daily arXiv processing, and schedules it to run once each day's new batch is available.
A personal system that turns the daily arXiv paper batch into a filtered, conversational daily brief tailored to the reader's interests and knowledge.
