chinese-independent-blogs is a curated directory of independent Chinese-language blogs, personal websites and blogs maintained by individual writers outside of major social media platforms like WeChat or Weibo. The list focuses on blogs by programmers, product managers, entrepreneurs, and people interested in technology. The idea behind the project is that independent blogs represent a more open and enduring form of publishing compared to content trapped inside walled social media gardens. Each entry in the list includes the blog's RSS feed link (a standard way to subscribe to a site's updates), a brief description, the blog's web address, and tags indicating the main topics covered (programming, frontend development, entrepreneurship, investing, etc.). The repository also provides a companion website and Telegram channel where followers can discover new posts from these blogs in an aggregated feed format. There is no software to run as an end user. You would browse this list when looking for thoughtful Chinese-language writing from independent authors in tech, or when wanting to add a curated set of RSS feeds to a feed reader application. Bloggers can also submit their own site for inclusion. The project is managed using Python scripts and tracks hundreds of blogs sorted roughly by RSS subscriber count.
