gongwen-draft is a skill for AI writing assistants that helps draft, revise, review, and export formal Chinese government and administrative documents, known as gongwen. It is meant to be installed into an AI agent tool so that a user can ask it to draft, check, or export this kind of official paperwork through conversation rather than starting from a blank page. The project supports 23 types of official writing, including the 15 legally defined document types set out in Chinese government document handling regulations, such as decisions, notices, reports, requests for instructions, and meeting minutes, plus 8 more common types of administrative material like work summaries, research reports, and briefing papers. Its core approach is to research and verify facts before writing. When a draft needs to cite policy, leadership statements, or official data, the skill is designed to check authoritative government sources first, such as official government websites and the national laws and regulations database, and to mark anything it cannot verify as unconfirmed rather than presenting it as fact. It also reviews drafts for correct document type, proper chain of authority, factual accuracy, punctuation, formatting, and numbering, and flags information that should be handled as confidential. The skill can export a finished draft to a Word document formatted according to standard Chinese official document conventions, including specific font requirements for different parts of the document. Before exporting, it checks whether the required fonts are installed and will stop rather than silently substitute a different font. A special letterhead style is only produced when the user explicitly requests it and supplies the necessary official information. The README is explicit that the skill must never fabricate an official document, forge an issuing authority, invent policy citations, statistics, or approval status, or pretend a draft is a real document from a real agency. Anything it produces is described as a draft only, still requiring human review, sign off, and confidentiality checks before it becomes official.
