ArXivLibrary is a desktop app for researchers who want an easier way to search, save, and organize academic papers from arXiv, the free online archive of physics, math, and computer science preprints. It runs natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and it was built as a weekend project by a researcher who wanted to smooth out their own everyday arXiv workflow, then shared it publicly. The app centers on arXiv's own search, offering full-text and advanced search filters, pagination, a saved search history, and a quick search shortcut so you can find papers fast. Once you find something worth keeping, you can save it into a library organized as nested, color-coded collections, add tags, mark a reading status like unread or in progress, and jot markdown notes directly on the paper. A Daily Feed surfaces new papers from the arXiv categories you choose to follow, so you do not have to keep checking the site manually. There is also a graph view that draws connections between related papers, which can help you see how a topic's research fits together visually. For citation work, ArXivLibrary looks up DOIs through Crossref and pulls citation counts and venue information from Semantic Scholar, and it can import and export bibliography files in the standard .bib and .ris formats. PDFs can be downloaded and opened directly in your system's own PDF viewer, so there is no separate reader built in. The interface supports custom themes built from a base and accent color. Installers are currently available only for Apple Silicon Macs, 64-bit Windows, and 64-bit Debian or Ubuntu Linux, other platforms are not supported yet. Because the app is not code-signed, each operating system shows a one-time security warning on first launch, which is normal for independently distributed software. The project is released under the MIT license, and its third-party components are all permissive and MIT-compatible.
