GC Minimal Zine Poster is a skill for the Codex AI coding assistant that turns a short idea, like a theme, sentence, mood, or photograph, into a minimalist, paper-textured poster in an editorial zine style. Rather than being a full application someone installs and runs, it is a set of instructions and reference files that Codex reads to know how to generate this specific type of image. The visual style it aims for includes a tall, aged-paper canvas, large areas of empty space, one small focal subject, restrained typography like serif or typewriter fonts, a single bold color accent, and print-style imperfections such as halftone dots or scan artifacts, evoking a quiet Japanese or Korean independent zine look. It deliberately avoids glossy advertising layouts, three-dimensional renders, neon colors, and busy scrapbook designs. The skill supports several modes. A basic generate mode turns a described idea into a poster. A photo input mode can take an existing photograph and turn it into a poster while preserving the subject's identity and clothing. A reference analysis mode looks at a folder of example images and extracts the underlying visual rules without copying anyone's exact work. A prompt-only mode returns just the finished text description for the image, without actually generating a picture. An analyze-and-generate mode combines the last two, studying references first and creating something new from what it learns. To install it, someone clones the GitHub repository into a specific folder inside their Codex configuration directory, and Codex will pick up the skill automatically. Actually using it means giving Codex a short instruction referencing the skill by name along with a topic or image. The package contains no external scripts, fonts, or API keys, so quality depends entirely on the image generation capability already built into whatever AI environment is running it. The project is released under the MIT license, allowing free use and modification.
