This repo is a Chrome extension called Gemini UI Redesign that gives Google Gemini a sleek, dark, premium look. If you use Gemini regularly and find the default interface bland, this extension lets you personalize it with your own background images, a polished dark color scheme, and a floating sidebar that feels more modern. It changes only how Gemini looks, not how it works, so every feature still functions exactly as before. Once installed, the extension layers a new visual style on top of the Gemini webpage before it even finishes loading, so you never see a flash of the old design. You can upload your own wallpaper images for different areas of the page, including the main background, the left sidebar, the chat input box, and even your sent message bubbles. A small settings popup, accessed by clicking the extension icon in your browser toolbar, lets you toggle everything on or off and adjust how dark each zone appears with individual sliders. The extension also watches for changes Gemini makes to the page on the fly and re-applies your custom styling so it stays consistent during use. The tool is aimed at people who spend meaningful time in Google Gemini and want it to feel less generic. A founder who keeps Gemini open all day for drafting and research, a PM who uses it for brainstorming, or just anyone who prefers a dark, personalized workspace would appreciate it. It works on Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers, but not Firefox or Safari. One practical note: the extension is not on the Chrome Web Store, so you install it manually by downloading the code and loading it into Chrome's developer mode. Because Google can change Gemini's underlying page structure at any time, future Gemini updates may occasionally break the styling until the extension is updated.
