This project is an Agent Skill, a set of instructions written in the SKILL.md format that AI coding and chat agents like Claude can load and follow. Its purpose is to turn a general purpose AI agent into a specialist for a practice called GEO, short for Generative Engine Optimization. GEO is the newer counterpart to traditional search engine optimization, focused on making web content more likely to be picked up, cited, and mentioned by AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews rather than only ranked in a search results page. The skill walks the agent through the underlying mechanic these AI systems use to find and cite content, which is a process of breaking text into chunks, converting it into a searchable form, retrieving relevant pieces, and grounding an answer in them with a citation. Based on that mechanic, the skill defines a repeatable workflow: allowing AI crawlers to access the site, structuring text into clearly extractable blocks, backing claims with concrete data so they get cited, covering the range of related questions a user might ask, keeping content fresh, adding verifiable authorship information, applying correct structured markup such as JSON-LD, removing language patterns that read as obviously AI-generated, and publishing in a consistent format. It also includes a way to measure how often your content gets mentioned compared to competitors. The skill supports two use cases: writing new content from scratch with GEO in mind, or auditing and rebuilding an existing page, starting with a baseline check. To use it, you place the skill folder into your agent's skills directory, such as Claude Code's local skills folder, or upload it through Claude's website settings. The agent then loads the full instructions automatically when a task matches the skill's description. It is released under a Creative Commons Attribution license and requires crediting the original author.
