Agent Xiaohongshu Workbench is a local tool for people who write picture and text posts for Xiaohongshu, a Chinese social platform, and want an AI agent to help with the whole process. It runs on your own computer using Codex CLI rather than sending your accounts or drafts to a hosted service, and it does not connect to a third party model API of its own. Each content account you set up inside the tool keeps its own positioning, brand character, visual style, cached trending posts, drafts, and history, while sharing one browser session used only for research. The workflow moves through clear steps: pick or create an account, research trending posts in that account's topic area, get five editable content ideas, break down what makes a trending post work using a built in skill, write a first draft, run it through a Chinese text polishing skill that removes stiff or AI sounding phrasing, generate matching brand images, and preview everything together before anything is published. Publishing is off by default and only happens after you manually connect your browser session and confirm. To use it you need Node.js version 22.13 or newer, your own installed and logged in copy of Codex CLI, Chrome with your own Xiaohongshu login, and a browser extension called OpenCLI Browser Bridge. After cloning the repository you run npm install, npm run setup, and npm run dev, then open the local address the terminal shows you. A packaged Windows installer is also available from the project's releases page for people who do not want to build from source. The project does not read or store your cookies, passwords, or platform keys, and the public repository ships empty of any account data, trending post content, or past drafts. The tool's own code is released under the MIT License, while the small set of bundled skills it depends on carry their own separate licenses, listed in the repository's third party notices file.
