Figures from each repo's GitHub metadata at analysis time.
This repository is the free sample front for a paid prompt library aimed at software developers who use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot. The full paid product is a set of five PDF volumes containing over 1,140 prompts covering debugging, code review, refactoring, testing, security review, system architecture, DevOps, databases, and career topics like interview prep. The repository itself is free and contains sample prompts you can read directly on GitHub, plus a downloadable 15 page PDF sample. Each prompt in the collection follows the same format: a title, a description of when to use it, the actual copy paste ready prompt text with placeholder variables to fill in, tips for improving the output, an example of what the response looks like, which AI model tends to work best for that task, an estimate of difficulty and time saved, and common mistakes to avoid. The idea is that instead of writing a debugging or code review prompt from scratch each time, a developer can grab a prompt already built for that specific situation, such as tracing a stack trace or reviewing a pull request for security issues. The five paid volumes are organized by topic. Volume 1 covers debugging and code reviews, Volume 2 covers code quality and code generation, Volume 3 covers testing and security, Volume 4 covers architecture and system design, and Volume 5 covers infrastructure, data, and career growth. Each volume can be bought separately and works on its own, or all five can be bought together as a bundle. The free sample prompts in this repository can be used, shared, and adapted freely. The paid PDF volumes are licensed to the person who buys them: the prompts inside can be used freely, including commercially, but the PDF files themselves cannot be resold or redistributed. The project notes it is not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft, even though its prompts are designed to work with their AI tools.
