Thinshell is a framework for designing a new kind of organization called a Thin-Shell Company (TSC). It has three layers, a foundation layer that never changes, a constitutional layer that can be amended, and an operational layer where rules can expire automatically. Governance rights are determined by Contribution Tokens (based on what members contribute, not wealth or titles), and TSCs can nest inside each other infinitely. Members can be individuals, teams, other companies, or AI agents. The whole thing starts in a chat interface like a messaging app and runs continuously.
