omarchy-kanagawa-dragon-theme is a dark color theme for Omarchy, a Linux desktop configuration system. The theme is based on the Kanagawa Dragon color palette, a set of muted, dark tones inspired by Japanese ink painting, with slight modifications from the original. Installation is a single command using Omarchy's built in theme installer. Beyond the color theme itself, the repository also includes two optional components built with Quickshell, a shell scripting tool for creating desktop UI elements. The first component is a top navigation bar that replaces Waybar, the status bar commonly used in Hyprland based desktop setups. This bar shows workspace indicators as kanji numerals, a centered clock, and system status modules, all styled in the Kanagawa Dragon palette. You enable it by disabling Waybar first and then launching the bar through Quickshell, optionally adding it to your Hyprland autostart configuration. The second component is a radial app launcher, a circular selector that appears when invoked, showing your chosen applications arranged in a ring. Selecting an app highlights it, and you can navigate with arrow keys, keyboard shortcuts, or by pressing a number key. Icons are colorized through a visual effect pass so they match the palette regardless of their original colors. The theme requires Quickshell, Hyprland compatible tools like hyprctl, pamixer, bluetoothctl, and nmcli, plus a Nerd Font, with the configuration using JetBrainsMono Nerd Font. It is written in QML, the language used by Quickshell for UI components. A light mode companion theme called omarchy-kanagawa-lotus-theme is also available from the same author.
